Black Friday is always hectic, and this year we hit up the sales in Los Angeles and Las Vegas! We definitely covered a lot more ground this year, literally. In this post, we will show you each of our hauls and talk about some of the things we bought!
This year, Black Friday went on for 3 days in my household. We started on Thursday night and shopped all day Friday and most of the day Saturday. On Thursday we stopped by Best Buy at 6 pm to get one of my Christmas presents, beautiful sea foam Beats by Dre! Friday was the biggest shopping day! Mom and I went to the mall at 9 am and started at Forever 21 where I got 2 dresses, 2 jackets, a long sweater and a sweatshirt for me and we bought a couple presents for my sister too!
Then, we found a great deal at Victoria's Secret on gifts for me and Sam again. Finally, we went to Target and ULTA and bought a lot of Christmas presents for the family. I can't say what we bought as gifts because they read the blog but stay tuned for a Christmas haul to see everything.
On Saturday I did a little online shopping. Yes To Carrots, which is one of my favorite skincare lines right now, was having 40% off everything so I stocked up on some of my staples like the Tomato Towelettes! Ragged Priest was also having a sale and I've had my eye on a few pieces from there so I grabbed those before they sold out! I got the gray beanie and the baseball jersey shirt dress. I'm thinking about making this outfit into a "How To" blog for baseball jerseys. Let us know what you think!
My haul started late on Thanksgiving night and I shopped all the way until the concert! Here's a rundown of everything I got. At Forever 21, I got 2 shirts and a camouflage jacket, at Topman I bought a black polo with a leather pocket, a tie dye shirt, and a jersey. At H&M, I got an awesome baseball tee with the number 3 on it, which is one of my favorite numbers! I bought my minion shirt at Hot Topic and a lot of football gear at NIKE and Under Armour. I got Adidas soccer pants and a Derrick Rose hoodie at the Adidas store and a black and white Bulls hat from Lids for only 5 dollars!! I also bought the outfit I wore to the concert this weekend too. The ripped black jeans are from Zara, the cut-off flannel is Forever 21, and the white alligator print shoes are from Kenneth Cole.
We want to see your BLACK FRIDAY HAUL! Tag @TCCarter23, @MDeFraites, and @Street23Fashion on Twitter and Instagram and show us what you got!
When most people today hear "denim on denim" they think of that tragic Justin and Britney moment, but we have found an easy way to pair denim without looking like you just came from the baby blue farm.
The easiest trick is to find two matching pieces of denim for the top and bottom but have a separator piece. In this look, we put a simple black shirt to break up the pieces of denim. Adding some fun red sneakers on the bottom to give it some color, keeps the outfit casual and easy.
Another great way to wear denim on denim is to use two completely different colors of denim to give a good contrast. In this look, the over sized boyfriend denim shirt is light-washed, while the bottoms are darker. The two different tones give the outfit dimension while still wearing the same material on the top and bottom. Finding a printed or patterned denim is also a great piece to use when wearing the denim on denim trend.
Are you a clothes hoarder? Do you ever look at your closet and think, "I have so much clothes but nothing to wear!" We all run into this problem every couple of months or so, but what do we do to fix it? Typically, the first thought is always SHOPPING! While we are the first people to admit we love shopping, it isn't necessarily the best option. Here are a few tips on how to stop being a clothes hoarder and how to find some new outfits with the clothes you already own.
First step is to separate your clothes into three sections. The first section is for the clothes you are definitely not going to wear again. If it is the wrong size, worn out, or you just don't like it anymore get rid of it and donate it to a local thrift store or Goodwill. Cleaning out old clothes is a quick way to make your closet feel newer.
The second section is for the clothes you know you want to keep. These are your favorite pieces that you wear all the time or the new clothes that you haven't had a chance to wear yet. Keep these displayed in the front of your closet to use later.
The third section is for clothes you don't want to get rid of but that you haven't worn in a long time, meaning at least a couple months. This pile of clothes is the trickiest! These are clothes that are sometimes sentimental. They were at one point our favorite shirts, something with a fond memory, or just clothes we've honestly just forgotten about. There are three steps below to help you decipher through this stack of clothes without letting emotions get in the way.
Step 1: Try It On. (If it doesn't fit, put it in give away pile. If it fits, continue.) Step 2: Make two new, unique outfits with the item. Use your new clothes as well as some older items. (Taking pictures can help you remember the outfits for those days when you are running late!) Step 3: If you can not make any outfits that you would want to wear, get rid of it!
After completing these steps for each item, you now have a whole new array of outfits. Also, your closet has been given a makeover, making it easier for you to be inspired! Leave a comment below or write to us on Twitter and or Facebook telling us how this worked for you and your closet!
This floral dress from Forever 21 is a great staple because it can be styled many different ways from girly to edgy. For this look, we went with the edgier approach, pairing it with a black beanie, silver chain necklace, and blackDr. Martens.
Guys can even wear floral too! Having just a pop of colored floral in an outfit can add that element that takes a look to the next level. This floral snap-back is perfect because it's just enough color to give the look something unique. It's styled with a shirt from Zara, jeans from Topman, and Timberlands.
